Next week is the official beginning of Bike to School Week and Bike Month in the City of Toronto.

Many of us have been biking to work for weeks (or month) at this point, but the bike traffic will pick up significantly in the coming weeks. With this increase in bike traffic, it’s a good time to refresh your memory on what to do if you are involved in an accident, or see another cyclist involved in an accident. Remember, when in doubt, wait for the police and ambulance to arrive. For more to tips on what to do, check out: Tips for Cyclists

Somewhat counterintuitively, with more cyclists comes more (not less) cyclist safety and fewer bike accidents per rider. There is real safety in numbers with urban cyclists as a pack of cyclists is much more visible to drivers than a lone cyclist.

Here at, we wish you a safe and happy Bike to School Week and Bike Month! See you out there.
